To my delight and amazement, I won the $5000
Leacock Award for Poetry. As an added bonus, I
won 2nd prize in the Leacock Limerick contest for
another $500. Think I'll retire!
The Victoria Writers' Association picked my poem
for 1st prize in their contest! So nice.
Whoop and whoopeeee! Won second prize in
the Arc Poetry Mag. 10th Annual Poem of the
Year contest! One of my "Weird" poems.

Won 3rd prize in Prairie Fire's Bliss Carmen
Award. Thank you, judge Don McKay.
My poem "Red Sweater, Green Girl" took 2nd prize
in the BWS contest. Award Ceremony in November.
Just won 1st prize for rhyming poem "Two
Small Women". (TOPS Contest) So pleased
Was invited to be the feature reader at the
BWS opening of their new venue, James St.
Cafe on St. Patrick's Day. (I'm called the
Limerick Queen.) Read a lot of limericks and
did Chicka Boom. They seemed to love it all.

I'm gonna try and update this little ol'
website of mine. The writers had a birthday
"do" for me on Feb.2/12 "honoring" me for
my writing. Bonnie and Billie got it going.
They madem me fel just WONDERFUL.
People were reading my stuff and telling
me my poetry was beautiful. I read two
serious poems myself and then did Boom
Chicka Boom, my kinda famous one.
Won First Prize for the piece I entered in
Ripple Effect's anthology contest. $400!

over 160 pieces published in kids'
mags--Humpty Dumpty,Turtle, Pockets, My
Friend, Chirp, etc

da Fink has been chosen for Scholastic NY's

the Chocolate Lily Award!
Finklehopper is out in paperback and is
already doing well!
